I've heard of people getting cars towed from their workplace, apparently its not uncommon. I assume its down to how you deal with it, if you try avoid them then they will have to take it by force if they track you down.

A while ago my mate's brother died. He had just bought an ASX. My mate took the car to drive as his was, well, broken. The bank kept calling for payments, and he kept telling them to come and fetch the car as the owner was dead. This went on for over a year before the repo man made an appointment to collect it. My mate missed that appointment due to work, and the repo man made another one.

My mate now toodles about in a decrepit old three door corsa.

Anyway, it appears that the repo man can be reasonable.
