Vehicle Repossession/Surrender

Maybe add a new level of complexity to the tale, find out when the auction is and get one of the friends that helped him to fake his payslip to bid on the car and chase the price up. Maybe they end up with the car so it is kinda like karma car ?

Actually an excellent idea. If said friends end up with the car, toughies. :D

Well they are the cause of all this drama in the first place. I think it is only right if they are enticed to approach the vice-grip and unzip.

Yep, push the bidding up to 180k and then let the serious buyers take it from there.

If I remember correctly, you pay 4k to take part in the auction, which is refunded if you leave. So, if any one friend ends up with the car, he/she disappears and they only loose 4k. The car will then simply go back on auction at a later time.

Yeah maybe with the prospect of getting the Beemer cheap, they might bite. I would 100% try this route. Worse case is they say no. Win would be someone else buying the car at a higher value and a victor would be one of the said 'friends' ending up with the car. :D

Well publish the date of the Auction here... perhaps there are people who would pick this up.... perhaps even push the sale price up.

People here willing to pay 4k, perhaps get it back and not end up with the vehicle? There need to be good communication between everyone, as users here may bid against each other and serious buyers withdraws. Think it is too risky.

Massive risk.

Might even a be some drawn out scam.

With the guy being short on cash, I'm guessing he might have had a low cost/quality repair job done on the dents.

How does the body and paint work look now?

This could easily reduce the value of the car if not done properly.

I'm guessing cars only go for half to three quarters of their value at auction on top of that.

Nope, I had the repair work done at a proper Panel shop. Paintwork looks good. They mailed now to say the valuation is R120 000 ex vat

Well, if that was their evaluation and the bank's are also in that vicinity, then obviously there is something lowering the value. Doubt the car will even reach the 100k mark on auction if this is the case.

Sorry, both valuations I received were from the same place. They seem to have upped it since this morning.
