I have a 2020 Opel Corsa 1.0T with 23K on the clock.

It'll be due for the annual service in December, at which point it'll likely be on around 25K. Obviously this is very low mileage, so I'm essentially just doing annual services in line with the regular services of the car (minor, major etc.)

My question is, for services that require more serious work (cam belt, plugs etc), do these realistically need to be done per the suggested intervals?

At this rate I'll hit the 120,000KM cambelt service in 2040, but I'm fairly certain the rubber will have tarnished long before then. But I'd also like to not do an expensive service if I don't have to and this car is realistically not even on it's second service per the mileage intervals.

Trying to determine what actually needs to be done due to aging, etc and what I can get away with skipping.

It's usually the kms or a year, whichever comes first, so even if you are not yet at service mileage you take it in after a year because as you say rubber will still perish regardless of the mileage.

Does it even use a cambelt?

Cam belts are mileage or year. Conti cam belts which are commonly used with need to be replaced after 4 years as an example.

Yea I’ve been following the annual servicing routine as mentioned as I’m not hitting anywhere near the mileage.

I guess I’ll just continue as I have been.

the car has a timing belt?

If it has a timing belt dont neglect this... The rubber perishes. And you will cry a lot if it snaps and causes.damage....

Yea, had it since it has 11km on the clock.
continue taking care of the car and in return it should also give you trouble free motoring experience.
Do yearly services and then belts(cambelt & fan belt) get them changed by years and not mileage.

the car has a timing belt?
Most likely - it is usually larger engines that are chain driven. But I am no mechanic, just talking from own experience.

And from own experience - change that belt when it is due. When it snaps on the highway, you will cry crocodile tears...
