I have a Renault Clio with 190k. If i brake when driving anything over 140 the vehicle vibrates violently. Scarry stuff. The brakes were changed a few months ago, but apparently the discs were too thin and warped so they couldnt be skimmed. What could be the problem?

I had a subaru that did this, people were telling me a mix of warped breaks, warn steering wrack, word tie rod ends.

I sold the car as is so never found out what it was

Your discs were in such a state, that they could not be skimmed, yet it does not sound like you replaced them... If that is the case, it is rather obvious what your problem is.

I had the same issue with my Corolla. Kept on skimming the front discs, but the warpage returned.

When I replaced the front discs for the second time, I decided to replace the rear brake pads. (The first time was when I bought the car).

Problem went away. Apparently if your rear brake pads have a problem, the problem will manifest itself as a brake shudder later on. Don't ask me why.

Still going strong without any brake shudder or the such.

replace these forumites.... trrrr TISH

Back to topic, my wife has the same issue, skimming, new pads, no joy. I think the discs need replacement

Warped discs are very rare but if you do have warped discs skimming won't help for long. Skimming cannot correct a disc that is warped, it will always be warped.

Im buying 2 new tyres right now and getting the wheel alligment + balancing done. Hope this reduces it. I really dont feel like using the fix/miss method. Especially because the car is 8 years old and there are so many things that could be the problem
