Hi, i need new tyres for my car and TWT has a nice set of TSW's with velocity axe tyres. Does anyone have any experience with these tyres? dont want to put duds on my car. :D

You won't go wrong with Velocities.

TWT wouldn't back them if they were no good, and I have personally had 3 sets of Velocity and they have all been excellent.

Thing is, Velocity are actually very good tyres - but it's the same old thing where certain people will only buy BMW or Mercedes because of their perceived value, whilst there are perfectly good other makes out there that are more than good enough for them.

ill be getting hankooks

You get what you pay for!
Some aspect of the Velocity tyre won't be as good as a higher priced tyre( Wet handling? Lateral control? ), but on the upside the Velocity's may last longer due to a harder rubber compound.

I never had any problems with wet weather handling with my Velocity tyres, and I was able to use them when I drove in the Tar Stage event in Gauteng. Anyone who thinks he's getting poor value for money is simply bluffing himself to justify the extra cost of some imported tyre.

i currently got dunlop sp10's i think. ideally i would replace with these since i am 95k (from new) with these tyres. but i dont see anyone advertising them..

I didn't mention imported tyres? Locally made Firestone Firehawk's are decent tyres! I would pick those over Velocity tyres any day.

Velocity are made by Dunlop if I recall. As I said before, and I will say it again. There is nothing wrong with a locally made tyre whether it's Dunlop or Firestone. I just find it stupid that people will ignore something local because they think that they have to go with something imported.

As far as I know (from speaking to someone at TWT) Velocity are made by in the same factory as Continental. Apparently they (Axe) are specifically made for TWT, and I was advised to take the Contis at R100 more per tyre, because they would last longer (which has lately become just about my sole criteria when buying tyres).

What about mileage. What can one expect to get from these Velocity Axe tyres on a sedan motor car?
