Hi guys I've got a problem with my car. It's a 2005 velocity 1.4i. It swings but doesn't start checked fuel pump fuel is being pumped....
Any idea wat else I can check thanks

I had this problem on a Chevrolet Aveo, turned out to be a faulty crank angle sensor. Not sure if applicable to a 2005 Velociti though.

Starter

Try and kick start. If it does start, then it's most likely the starter.

It swings, and so the first two posters suggest that it’s the starter. The mind boggles.

Yes it does start if I kick start but after a long kick

Yes it does then it's fine for about a week. Then it starts it problem again

When is the last time the car was serviced? Plugs, air oil and petrol filter?

Then also check how old the coil pack is anf inspect your ignition leads, wave a screw driver around between them the block and any other steel parts close by without touching, if they arc, replace them they are cheap at Goldwagen.

I use the golf weekends only. But I start it everyday. Yesterday took it for a long drive today morning woke up went to start but never take so had to use the Corrola

Either way, the immobilizer will either work or disable the car, not make it swing longer before starting, is there a difference you can hear in the speed the starter swings? Like a bit slower like when yiu battery is low?
