I have had Neotel and Amobia to my home to complete a site survey to have WIMAX installed.
Unfortunately no DSL in my area due to cable theft and 3G is just too expensive.

Both Neotel and Amobia confirm I am within the coverage areas (base station about 2/3 kms away) but because my home is in a valley, I have line of sight issues.

Anybody know who can install a very long pole so that CPE devices can be mounted and have line of sight? Will Neotel/Amobia have issues with this pole? Any other thoughts from anyone?

Thanks

Also had LOS problems.

Mounted the Antenna on a 3 meter pole on the roof.

Just keep in mind, the wind. (It gets irritating if you have just got a small window of LOS, then every-time the wind picks up, the antenna swings from side to side and the signal drops)

666 meters is pretty close but also the number of the beast :D

You don't say where you live but with a long pole / maybe a tower you can also join one of the WUGs in your area. Click on my sig to find out more :)
