Very Sluggish today?

Im on IS and all sites including local are very slow, anyone else experiencing sluggish browsing today?

Chatted to the DSL guys now. If possible, please send the following info to [email protected]

• Client Code

• Speedtest to both local and international servers

• Tracert's to a problematic site, server etc

Seems to have cleared up... my IS running back at normal speeds

mine got better in the evening, but has returned to barely zero browsing, its taken me about 15 mins to post here, this tells me that this is what 1 Star throttling is, if you have one star it means you use the most in your category and in the top percentage of usage, i personally think they have taken this throttling too far, believe me when i say its a miracle im able to post this. I would advise to do your utmost to stay out of the one star rating, as it is very very close to no internet at all

You really have to ask your self where can the problems be ?

Please correct/amend with constructive criticism,as I do not know the exact network layout of the ADSL network
Local connection:

• 
  ADSL Modem to DSLAM/IMAX - Check sync speed, line loss (attenuation)
  SOLUTION: Ask Telkom to Reset your Profile on the DSLAM/IMAX Call 0800 375 375

• 
  Telkom Backhaul - DSLAM/IMAX via ATM or MetroEthernet to Access Server - over contention
  SOLUTION: Phone local Telkom technician (DSLAM Operations) if you know how to discern thats the problem)
  [NOT RECOMMENDED if you do not know what you are talking about - need facts to substantiate]

• 
  Telkom IPC Contention between ISP & Telkom ADSL network
  SOLUTION: Check by running traceroutes to various IP (local & international) ,
  possible high ping times on first few hops
  Call your ISP Helpdesk

• 
  ISP Contention: Over contended ADSL Service, too many subscribers
  SOLUTION: Call your ISP Helpdesk (difficult to prove, possible high ping times on first few hops)

• 
  ISP Heavily shaped: Cannot perform other services ie Remote Desktop, VPN, Voip on Unshaped
  SOLUTION: Install & run "tcptraceroute remote.companyserver 3389" (RDP port) to prove to yourself
  what the issue is
  Call ISP Helpdesk
