Very unsatisfied customer

As you can understand with the festive season approaching we are reluctant to launch new series until January 2011 so that viewers taking a vacation would not miss out on the start of the series. We are committed to rectifying the issues you raised,'' Fox Entertainment tells me, ''as we seek to provide viewers with a viewing experience that is enjoyable without stress.'' - TV WITH THINUS

And what of the majority that will be staying home?

Guess its back to ETV's yearly repeats for December.

I tried the uncapped route. But for a decent line speed it costs a lot of money still. I do get a lot of free DivX stuff from Stel University. Everyone dumps stuff on the server and students swop stuff etc. I do not mind paying a bit extra for high quality DivX downloads from some people. Their time and their line.
I want entertainment, this is affordable to me, and it is costing me a decent media player a a good hard drive. Pay TV is driving me crazy. Even the target market of TopTV is starting to complain now. All the new R299 special subscribers are getting gatvol. Check out their wall on their facebook page. TopTV is facing a huge back lash. People want good Modern content.

but still you pay for divx stuff? that defeats the whole purpose of it, you pay the guy R300, 2 guys pay him and his adsl line is free, if hes in your it department, his probably using works line at night to download stuff. sheess what a load of bull if you ask me! and you dont need an expensive uncapped line to get a good few series, just download and trade,

50 x movies @ R200 sounds fair to me (35 GB). What line speed can get you 50 in less than an hour? I'd happily pay the R300 for 12 series too (roughly 20 episodes per season == 240 episodes == 172 hours) - I feel that it works out cheaper than line rental + uncapped ADSL because I'd do it once and share/swap for the next 6 months or so - obviously accumulating the collection.

I get your point regarding the guy making profit/his ADSL line being free... but I'd still pay him to do the dirty work. I don't have the time to wait for downloads or search for them for that matter.

see your point, dont agree with it but i see it

There are currently 10 seasons of SG1, all of them quite dated.

You can easily play of of them without losing any profit.
Here's an idea... Try finish them and start with Stargate universe or put something else on.

Please stop repeating a few seasons over and over again, this goes for all the repeats I have seen more than 4 times already in 6 months.

Not acceptable.

Regards.

Thank you for your email.
On PayTV every region buys rights to certain programmes that they air and while another broadcaster holds those rights in a region we can't buy them therefore can't show the same programme at the same time. By that we mean we can only buy rights for programmes that are available to us until rights for other programmes/seasons become available for us to buy. In relation to Stargate we have rights becoming available starting from January 2011, you'll start seeing new seasons of Stargate from then.

Yours Sincerely,
Fox International Channels Africa Team

Hi,

This is Africa, the majority of your viewers stay at home during the December holidays.

"As you can understand with the festive season approaching we are reluctant to launch new series until January 2011 so that viewers taking a vacation would not miss out on the start of the series. I pay for TV viewing and this is a rubbish excuse in an attempt to save money (and put it in someone's pocket instead of giving people what they rightfully pay for) by repeating old programming.

Not acceptable.

Regards.

Dear Sean,

It's a global trend not to launch new seasons of programmes during summer vacations as the majority of our viewers are on vacation. We have however developed new specials for this December such as HBO Stand up comedy and Fear Factor specials.

Yours Sincerely

Give me the same deal, as much content - may even be from your collection; and I'll be happy to be ripped off by you. I'll even throw in bonus cash. Seriously!
