Vespa PX 150

Interesting, wonder about the price difference. Maybe they are imported by someone else?

My brother recently finished restoring an old Vespa 100 which looks great.

Suspecting they might be "grey" imports, yeah. Still, a classic Vespa at 1/2 price seems pretty sweet.

Vespa's are pretty, but horribly overpriced. You pay about as much for the name as you do for the actual hardware.
Unless you're a die-hard Vespa fan, or a collector, Vespa isn't worth it.
I could think of much better ways to spend 30k (much less R60k) on a bike/scooter than on a Vespa.

That said, the one in the Autotrader picture doesn't look like the PX150. It doesn't have the front and back grills, the windshield, the side-body flickers and the wheel arches look like a slightly different shape to the PX150 on the Vespa site.

My question is why?

Wouldn't mind a scooter for messing about my neighbourhood on weekends etc. and the PX is quite an iconic little bike (metal body, 2 stroke manual scooter, 3 million sold). I'd never normally consider a Vespa due to their being horribly expensive, but 1/2 price makes it seem more attractive.

I guess so, but half the price is still triple the price of everything else.
