Everytime I get the question from someone I just met at work that asks me how Netflix is then I always know that it's going to lead to their typical goto excuse for not trying out Netflix or even one of the other streaming services. :po_O

I just loaded up VH1 and it looks like more reality TV than music as well... Basketball Wives, Black Ink Crew, Cartel Crew, Couples Therapy...

I get why some people miss VH1. I enjoy listening to old music sometimes. This is one of my fave songs.
 
and this.. Mtv is kinda crap now.

Trace sucks aswell. Trace use to play uk/euro charts music but Dstv seems to have inserted too many local & african artists.

I don't have an issue with that but there is also a Trace Africa channel. Play majority of SA & African artists on that channel.

It is like they want to come up with ways to remove value from the lower packages.

Btw google the Trace channel, it isn't that popular. Dstv probably pays peanuts to add it to a bouquet, hence it is on Compact.
 
There seem to be a few peeps that are missing the point here. VH1 was not just about the audio but about the visual experience too. The videos were authentic and took you back in time..down memory lane for those who wanted to reminisce from time to time. How many music channels are there now..? I think 4 and not one is devoted to rock, classic rock, pop..70s and 80s. DSTV you are a law unto yourselves and an utter disgrace !!

You are missing the point of posting in a thread that is nearly 2 years old.............people have moved on, got kids, grandkids, died, reincarnated and died again, when you decided to post.......

We really need a autolock feature for threads older then a certain time, if it is really important there shouldn't be an issue to ask some one to unlock it again.There is some seriously old threads that isn't relevant any more doesn't matter which century we are in :D

Just get Youtube Premium. Heck there's even 4k remastered music videos as well.

VH1 Classic was ****. I don't think they had more than 100 videos in their library.
 
I lived in Europe in 1995. VH1 and MTV were soooo great back then. I have fond memories, it was like they were embedded into the culture. Since we had no phones or streamed music, I remember always rushing home from school to watch MTV and see the latest hits. Also it seemed pretty normal to me/us back then to draw the MTV logo on basically anything we could write on at school with a pen/marker.... lol

Then suddenly I don't know what happened but MTV lost its way and the music made way for stupid reality shows and junk.

Agree..I feel MTV lost their way too and thats when i started following VH1 more closely. They were both embedded into the culture certainly ...
