Hi. Do you guys know of any video chat apps for the iPad? Besides skype and facetime. Preferably ones that allow you to chat to PC. Just downloaded one called Vtok that lets you video chat to google contacts but yet to try it out.

I haven't come across any other app for that purpose. I am just waiting for them to connect facetime with skype, that would be awesome. or at least a proper version of skype for the ipad2. I dunno what's wrong with those people.

"those people" sold Skype to Microsoft. Hope we don't get blue screens when using Skype now :D Also hope Microsoft don't decide to charge now, to recoup what they have spent on buying it.

I used Skype on my iPad2 last week while I was driving between Indianapolis and Chicago, I turned on my video, so my GF that I was talking to back in SA could see the highway I was traveling on - it worked well, just make sure you have good internet speeds on both sides.

I agree though - you would have thought they would have brought out an HD version of Skype by now for the iPad. Using the iPhone version is really crappy.

Fring supports Video on the Ipad 2. Even does group video calling. Not optimised for the HD screen, but still works ok.

With all the iPads sold world wide it seems crazy that Skype has not upgraded their application to HD. I guess it is not a priority as the app still works well in iPhone mode. But here's hoping!!!!!!!!!

(little off topic reply) Likewise with the Facebook app, not that I care much about it (FB that is). Just seems weird the companies not updating it, I wouldn't think it is that much work, a little but not massive to just get it native, maybe more to make it totally great on the larger display.

If I'm not mistaken - the Yahoo app allows you to video chat with a computer too :)
