Elo peeps! Downloaded an avi vid (DivX) last night (What happens in Vegas) but think it's missing a coded cause won't play... I have fddshow installed already and have lots other avi's playing with no prob. About three years ago i had a software where you can load a video, and will tell you which codec to download for it... Is there anything like that still...

/damn i hope the video is not corrupt!

have you tried VLC (Videolan) to play it? If videolan can't play it then you are out of luck

I generally use K-lite mega codec's and i never have any problems

try klite, if you know how to download it. im not offering you help with that too. ok

+1 on VLC and K-Lite. Gpot will tell you what codec you need afaik. :)

Agreed on both sentences. I mean who the hell does he think he is?
His first day here and he sprouts crap all over the place.

Glad I'm not the only one feeling like this. This guy seems like a mutation of Pooky that went bad ;)

Says need Dom-X to play... But there's no such thing as Dom-X... Something to do with Block-buster

What movie is this? Wanted 2? Wall.E 2? LOTR 4? Sorry to break it to you but this is a fake file. DOM-X is a codec that comes with the DOM-X player that brings along a nice virus for you. Do not even bother, just delete the file. Google it a bit if you want...

Correct. Just delete the file. This was a virus that was started a few months back AFAIK.

I've downloaded What.Happens.In.Vegas.DIVX.avi (734MB) using Bearshare... How is this a virus?

That file tells you that it needs the "Dom-X" codec to play the file properly, but to get the codec you need to Buy the DOM-X player. Now it is this DOM-X player that brings along a nice virus for you. In any case, even if you bought the player the file would not play properly.
