video converter using gfx card?

as per the title im looking for a video converter which uses gfx.

i have a 5770, ati cc says it can convert if im sending video to a portable device. however i'd like a converter which provides me with options (cropping, quantizer, etc.). Anyone know of any?

Well, there isnt really anything out there. Certainly nothing that can compare to a CPU-based converter, both for quality and speed. After all, you do want good quality for a certain amount of disc space and speed. If you got no disc space limitation, then why convert at all? Just keep the rip. And if you not worried about speed, then use a CPU based converter, nothing can touch them for quality.
