Hi, I downloaded a movie.

To which format and with which program do I convert it. I got nero, but its says my temp folder is to small. Got plenty of hard disk space left.

My wife want to watch it on TV. Not computer with vlc player.

panasonic dvd player.

Most likely anything you use has to be in XviD (or DivX) format, which means it will be an AVI file.
The external storage also has to be formatted to FAT32 format (Which means no files larger than about 4GB).

Give us the model number of the DVD player. You can read it off the tag at the back.

Did you try playing the Xvid File already through the DVD player?

How are you connecting the file to the DVD player? Through a flash disk or a USB drive?

I wanted to transfer .mkv to dvd after a few trials with different so called "lossless" convertors that was a b@llsup regards to sound, video and quality I found this little gem.

Transfer and encoding then burning to standard DVD took 2hours plus for a 6.5GB bluray .mkv file but the result is very good.

Panasonic SA-HT520
it just say dvd video
will not read Xvid.
dvd.

Yep, according to the manual, it only plays DVDs... it doesn't have a media player option.

So you have to convert any videos that you downloaded to a DVD.

Use this Free program.... http://www.dvdflick.net/

Or just use Nero to convert it to a DVD. (since you already have that installed).

Use FreeMake: http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/

Convert video free to AVI, MP4, WMV, MKV, MPEG, 3GP, DVD, MP3, iPod, iPhone, PSP, Android, rip & burn DVD, convert to Flash FLV & SWF, burn Blu-ray, and upload to YouTube with our free video converter!

I used this in the past and it works really well. Quick converting as well, but I guess that also depends on your PC specs.

[Edit] Just tried the software now. It will create a simple menu etc for your DVD video.
