Vikings

I know it isn't a history show, but the timeline is all over the place.

What we saw in Paris is the second of two major raids against the city and it was a raid the figure of Ragnar was not associated with. 40-year gap between the two and one significant event in between.

I have solid idea of what will happen to a number of the major characters, but the timeline is jumbled.

Where did you read up on Viking history? Any recommendations?

I've always been fascinated by Vikings. While in York I visited the Jorvik Viking Centre. Other than that I bought a book (The Viking Age) and Wikipedia'd and Googled every event or person of interest I came across.

As for Ragnar and the core story of the show, I actually got in to that via a video game and then researched all the characters that popped up in the game and who subsequently appear in the show.

That sword one is damn interesting :)

You will recall seeing the sword in Vikings too. The "Kings Sword"
 
besides if you have been paying attention how can this be a spoiler of sorts? the seer did say this was going to happen :erm:
