Edited to add : wonder if it will be feasible to resuscitate and start up a modernized Galaksija version, all totally open sourced like the original...

Beautifully written article, growing up as teenage boy in 80's Yugoslavia visit to local kiosk and buying Galaksija(more science oriented magazine) was always exciting event not to mention Svet komjutera( computer orientated).

We all wanted one but at the end ZX Spectrum was easier to obtain (and later C64).
Interestingly enough Jovan Regasek came to SA in 90s and is founder and CEO of ItWeb.

Now to think of it our high school got 12 Apple IIC computers in 1987, I wonder what happened to them.

Everytime I see your avatar @The_Hobbit it reminded me of when I played The Hobbit on my brother's ZX Spectrum 48K in the 80s. So cool that you now have one :thumbsup:

My uncle built a 6809 based computer running Flex9 OS in the 80's, it was an Elektor magazine project.

Many of the vintage computers from the 80's have been recreated as kits, including the Spectrum, ZX80, C64, IBM PC, MSX, etc.

A quick Google on your favorite vintage system should quickly throw up which kits are available. Even keyboards are now available as brand net setups.

Remember that system. :)

I recently built the Elektor Junior computer from May 1980. We recreated the original PCB by hand and a few of us built them up. Will post some pics a bit later.
