I can give 3 working PCI sound cards in exchange for just 1 PCI sound card with a working game port.Never thought finding a PCI sound card with working game port will be this tough.
Hmmm starting to sound like its the controller/drivers rather than the sound cards... Out of curiosity have you tried the sound cards and controller on a more modern machine that has pci slot?I can give 3 working PCI sound cards in exchange for just 1 PCI sound card with a working game port.
Please.

Thanks guys but the problem is not me or the P4:What are the chipsets of the Sound Cards you have? If you're using a Pentium 4 or newer, you're probably going to struggle to get the Gameport to work. I'm happy to trade you 1 for 1 if you want to try out a different chipset.

Hahaha thats hilarious... what's the point of including the game port (at a cost mind you) but not connecting it or adding the components to make it work?! When I am home again I'll check my cards and see if they are the same, if not we can organise to get one sent to you for testing. Thanks guys but the problem is not me or the P4:

No Transistors, MOSFET's next to the gameport.
Card 2:

Also no ground on the game port itself

Wow. I've just checked my spare cards and they're shockingly all the same. I have the same Crystal Card, and an ESS card on the same board which looks like the Gameport is connected, but users have confirmed that it isn't.Thanks guys but the problem is not me or the P4:

Even this C-Media which I bought off of Takealot a couple of years ago for R90 has the same issue.

It seems like those ports are there simply to hold the mounting plate on.![]()
Card itself is a beaut. That's a Dell OEM Sound Blaster Live 5.1. Designed for Windows 2000/XP but will work on Win98SE with the right drivers.
I had the same idea but it gets to the similar situation where you have boxes of ancient cables which you may never need again. So if someone else can use it why not.Card itself is a beaut.
Have placed my order with @Mike Angelo.
I have learned my lesson. I'm never giving up any computer stuff again.
These are fantastic cards for Windows 98. DOS support is sketchy at best, but there are plenty of alternatives available for that. If the drivers that came with it don't have Windows 98 support, you can grab this ISO for the CT4780.Card itself is a beaut.
