Violent video games linked to depression

Mortal Kombat depressed me as a kid cause I didn't know the inputs of the damn fatalities. :(
 
I get depressed by all the articles claiming that violent games cause actual violence, so in a way they are right.

I'd say raging kiddies are the only thing that annoys me in game.
I played with a kid last week that would not listen to team commands in Competitive playing.
We all go A and he goes B.
He still sends me game invites but I just ignore him now.
Little ****er.
 
Why would they run this study on 11 year olds, when most of the violent games have age restrictions that should prohibit them from playing it.

This makes me angry, people blaming games for messing kids up, but they don't take the time to actually take a good hard look at what their kids are playing. I was in BT Games a couple of months ago, and the store clerk actually showed the age restriction on Mafia II out to a customer buying the game for his son (about 10 yrs old), and advised him that it isn't suitable for his son. The guy went ahead and bought it anyway. I figure they couldn't refuse him as he himself was over the age restriction (18).

Very sad and very common :(

PS: probably also a case of daddy giving in cause his son was pestering him for the game as the son's friends all have it already.

That did suck.

Spent many a day at the arcade. Would watch people play the game and do fatalities. Then I'd get in there to fight, all excited, and when I won all I knew how to do was uppercut :(

People should realize that games are no longer Super Mario and Tetris. Games have matured along with the industry.

Funny that the same parents that would buy their children GTA would prohibit them from watching violent movies.

Exactly.

It's like saying, "my 8 year old has been emotionally scarred by this hardcore BDSM tranny-porn that I bought him for his birthday. Clearly porn is the problem!"
