Violin Spiders

Anubis, I just had an idea from one of the other pics posted above with the spider wasp and the sac spider... maybe you could start breeding spider wasps :D

Thanks for your kind words! The Lace Orb-web spiders are really tiny, and the only totally non-toxic spider in SA (they don't have poison glands). I really want a pic of their back, as it has a very interesting mask like appearance - I just can never get into the right position to do it. Good luck with your attempts!
No kidding about the tiny part LOL.. I see some of the photo's I tried to take on new years of it also came out "ok". posting them below with the ones I tried to take earlier this evening, not sure if it is what I think it is. But its really small. This one is a 5mm long

I really need to get a macro lens.

You see now what I mean about interesting detail!! You cannot see that with the naked eye. Well done with your attempts - you should pop these into Bwana's macro thread too.

I really need to get a macro lens and a set of extension tubes.
There, fixed it so Father Christmas gets the proper message. :D

Must find the thread first :)

Oh and need to ask Father Christmas to drop in an Olympus E30 for me as well, but the E520 will do.

Just been looking again, that third pic of yours does show off that mask I mentioned earlier, very well. How does it look cropped?

Just for interest, any reason for Oly?

Bwana's thread - I see he's been cheating and taking his pics down

These are the ones I have been able to photograph so far tonight. The other one still may be a Nursery web spider but I have yet to find another one. Bliksems are hiding now. Apologies for blurry shots..I was shaking hehe

says they native to the united states?

Can be series if bite victims are below 7 and or have a bad immune system. Bites are necrotic.. thats pretty gross.. def wouldnt want to get bitten by it. Odd occasion can cause death, other its a pretty chilled out fella, unless u squash him.

Ok... Now I am not going to sleep tonight.... Then again.. I guess at least they are in your house.. and not in mine :) I have no clue what those are though

That is already cropped :o Will see if I can try get a better shot somehow tomorrow.

I love Oly, Been shooting with an OM1 for years.. Still do actually, But my wife has slowly turned me over to digital. I really like the idea of the 4/3 system as well. But beginning to think I should move to Canon as my Wife, Father, Father in law and Brothers in law, all have Canon's, so lenses will be easier to swop around

First one looks like a wolfie, I think the other two are false button spiders (supposed to be harmless).
