Virgin Active reports increasing gym member terminations

Got our gym membership at a steal so I am a bit loathe to cancel it. Yet R650 in my back pocket (it covers 4 of us) would be nice.
Now, if VA would maybe drop memberships or place them on hold I am sure people would rather prefer that.
What's better...that or closing gyms now with less memberships to keep them going?

I won't go to Virgin because of their stupid admin fees of R2000 to sign you up or something.

Virgin Active. Got some special in about 2014 whereby my wife and I paid for our fees and our kids went free till the age of 18. No admin fees involved at all.
And with Discovery Health it's even cheaper. Except we aren't going in order to stay away from places like that, and they basically canned our kids membership. Nice.

I'm definitely not. I have a pre-2010 VA gym membership so I pay nothing extra for the gym plus I get a large chunk of my Vitality subs back in P&P Healthy Foods and Dischem discounts.

Same here.

I am on 66 visits for the pat 12 months, and I’m good till September before I lose the cash back.
So no point in cancelling till then.

You probably joking but I actually wanted to get fat(been skinny my whole life), lock down helped me with that but now I hate it. I wanna be skinny again . Argh.

The contract was not month to month, and secondly ... they were too expensive.

When I was doing Triathlons, think i was paying R800, now I see its over R1000.
Ill stick to bike and run.

After my last Ironman, I diverted that money into my bond.

I'm sure they make it up in their scummy contract termination fees.

Its more fun getting smses from MBD LC for unpaid debt even though I have never stepped in a virgin active since like 2005.

R466 for myself, wife & 2 kids under 12 (and they're free till 18). Plus we have Vitality otherwise it would be well over R700.
We scored on that contract we took out.
