Virgin Active reports increasing gym member terminations

I can afford mine but i cut it because i don't want to go due to COVID. I like to do a workout then shower and go to work and i'm just not comfortable being around other guys that close now with this virus. Nevermind that change rooms, sauna's etc are notorious for keeping germs safe and secure.

Once vaccinated though i'll probably take out my subscription again.

Is it just me or should that headline not say "gym membership terminations"?

Gym member terminations sounds more like the T800 found John Connor in a VA.

Got our gym membership at a steal so I am a bit loathe to cancel it. Yet R650 in my back pocket (it covers 4 of us) would be nice.
Now, if VA would maybe drop memberships or place them on hold I am sure people would rather prefer that.
What's better...that or closing gyms now with less memberships to keep them going?

Are people terminating their Vitality memberships as well then?

I just go the gym less now. Have complained to Virgin Active multiple times that the people at my gym don't adhere to the rules. They just walk around without masks and I just don't feel safe going to the gym anymore.

I get that people are trying to curb on expenses.

What I don't get is people citing fears of catching Covid at the gym as the reason. The gyms today are cleaner, and more sanitised, than EVER before.

Confront the patrons! Get their Facebook/Twitter handles and cancel them!

Shower areas still smell like $**t...

All that money they have collected from unused gym contracts over the years should carry them.

I'm definitely not. I have a pre-2010 VA gym membership so I pay nothing extra for the gym plus I get a large chunk of my Vitality subs back in P&P Healthy Foods and Dischem discounts.
