Last night Virgin data was dead as a Dodo from about 11pm onwards. I checked again between 1:30AM and 2AM and it was not working. Their service had been pretty slooow all evening.

When I called the Virgin helpline I was told they were doing an upgrade and they knew it was down. They also said they were considering ways to alert customers. E.g. SMS.

Obviously they need some ideas from us about how to notify customers.

Did you forward your ideas to Virgin Mobile?

Ah that explains it. I couldn't sleep so I decided to surf a little. Had to go back to bed slightly peeved.

How about publishing scheduled downtimes on their website? Its still a new company; downtimes are expected - actually required, otherwise they're not doing anything to improve.

The basic frustration is; planning to do something and then you cant because you didnt know there won't be any access.

I work from home 1 day every fortnight; and I depend on VM to be online; since Friday things have been going smoothly - VERY; thanks VM.

:D :D :D

How about being able to register somewhere as a data user and then being notified either in advance by email of scheduled downtime or at the time by sms if the network goes down unexpectedly.

Syndyre & Zabzoo, I think both is great ideas. You can e-mail your ideas to Virgin Mobile. The e-mail addresses in one of the previous topics.

I think the idea of publishing the scheduled downtimes on the their website it the best idea.;)

virgin is down again (well it is for me)... man its irratating, happens all the time.

So i;'m here now payng R2.00 a freekin meg from voda.

Should we send the ideas to you :D

No, I just said in my previous post that you can send it to Virgin Mobile.
I've already send my idea.

My idea was to have a forum almost like this one on their website for Virgin Mobile clients. Log in with you VM cell number and there you go. Then they have all your details and they could sort out your problem immediately. And if they dont, what do we do Skeptik? Throw all our toys around.:p

In your dreams, Piesang:rolleyes:
Virgin are probably thinking .. if only all customers were as easy to please as Piesang.:D

Well this is day 4 that virgin internet not working for me.

I'm rather pissed off, actually.

If only they could get a rep in here to drop a note about downtime it would allready be an improvement. I don't understand how MtN and VC can have great guys to represent them here in the forums, and Virgin still doen't have one.

Have these plonkers never heard of working after midnight as not to IMPACT their customers ???.

Well now its day 7 with no internet. I've logged 3 complaints and sent 1 email myself, and heard nothing from those virgins. It worked previously but know I'm friggin pissed off cause virgin data centre has crap response times and rather no response times.

So here i am again using my voda sim and paying R2.00meg, this also sux.

Ok, virgin have phoned me, and as it stands right now.... its possibly a faulty sim.......

I got so gatvol with the lack of being able to connect last week that I folded and bought an MTN bundle :-(
Hopefully by the time that runs out VM will have sorted out their hassles - but probably not...

When last did you V-Charge? Put your sim in a phone and try to call someone.

I can make/recieve calls., just no internet....

UPDATE.... they seem to have done something because i try a short while ago to surf.. and voila, it not only connects, but i can update my virus, surf www.myadsl.co.za, check my email, and do everything i'm supposed to do!!

Thanks Darlington.
