On the first day of MNP, Virgin data collapses in a heap. Nice going chaps. A great advertisement that will not attract you any more customers.

My advice = always have an MTN sim and voucher ready.

VM cannot even tell me why it's down or when it will be back. Their advice "Try again tomorrow!"

So its not just down for me then, getting Error 734, can't even make a connection. Always do have other sims handy for this exact reason, but you get rather tired of the hassle, if they don't get themselves sorted soon I'll be quite tempted to dump them completely and just go with MTN or Vodacom.

They are following the same path as Cell C. No matter who you are, you'll never live up to the cellular giants Vodacom and MTN. I mean, VC has more than 20 million customers, that's half of the country!!!

Even when it hasn't been down the last couple of days its virtually unusable for any traffic not routed through the proxy server.

Been as slow as it is today for the past few days for me, does anyone know if they're actually planning to sort it out properly soon or is this what you get for 50c/mb?

Maybe i'm in a decent area or something, but i have no complaints about speeds. Ok, last night was a balls up cause we had no interent at all, but apart from that, its fine.

Guess you're one of the lucky ones, I can't even download from the Gmail pop servers, keeps timing out, but its fine on Voda or MTN.

i realize that virgins data downtime and slow speeds can be irratating, but virgin will get it right. Sure it take them a little time to get things right. They are good for the cell phone industry, and we need them, we really do.

Both cellc and virgin both have some good pricing on some of their, products, and we need them to continue to produce innovation and cheaper pricing.

It will get better, it will.

The ideal would be if they forced MTN and Voda to drop their prices but at the moment with Virgin's product being substandard they don't have much reason to do so. I agree we do need them to shake up the industry, just think they should have put the necessary infrastructure in place to cope with demand before they launched.

I didn't have any problems with VM data today. In fact, it's faster than usual. Maybe because half the country isn't able to use the network...
