Hi.

Has anyone else had problems with their GPRS over the last 2 weeks ... with me, it connects initially and then almost instantly loses connection. Same with my friend and my mom ... I haven't been able to check e-mails or mxit on my phone for 2 weeks now.

Regards

Itai

You're not alone, it's happening to me every friggin evening.

"PPP" had been disconnected or some thing. At the same time i can't use my phone's browser either.

Cannot use them at all for more than 2 weeks now, before that i could open local webpages. But i'm on VC PPDB now for a long time, it's only now and then that i try VM to see if there is any change.
I'm better off now and i'm tired of bitching on this forum about VM's pathetic data service.

perhaps try another networks settings, i know cell c and vodacom settings both work no mattter what network as they have agreements (COUGHsamecompanyCOUGH) i can't confirm but i think virgin mobile uses vodacom so its worth a try

Yep, look virgin has been all over the flippin place (since day1) with its crap interent. Works, doesnt work, goes fast, goes slow. Its a pile of horse manure actaully.

Virgin, without becoming even slightly vocal, I'll be honest to say, you are useless, useless beyond measure, even with full signal your GPRS is non existent. Whole weekend was a mess to use Virgin GPRS..............

Dude, are you downloading a wav file? which songs are 18mb

I had some problems with Virgin so I switched back to MTN and one day I inserted my Virgin Sim card again and boom everything works good, haven't got a problem in two months now!! MTN is definitely faster though....

I always just used GPRS and have never had a problem with my data on my phone.

Virgin Mobile

I don't understand why would anyone chose to use Virgin Mobile as their service provider. U should compare service, price, and speed for your internet connection.
