Okay, Im 15 and need a basic internet connection for without a contract, so I connect via bluetooth/cellphone(E250 with samsung PC studio 3). I had no problems connecting with vodacom but now I bought a Virgin sim cause of 50c/MB, but the problem is there is no option of choosing Virgin on Samsung PC studio 3 and CellC connection doesnt work, what now?

Thank you

Call virgin and ask to speak to technical support, they will help you setup the bluetooth without the software that came with the phone, you will need to be running windows xp, thats all they support,

its been 1,5 years now so i have forgotten the steps.

hope this helps,

oh and btw, best you use two virgin cell phone, one to call and one to setup,

use the Cellc connection and change the APN from internet to vdata - also the e250 will run Opera Mini which can save you a mint by doing a lot of browsing on the phone

Think there is a extra menu for Virgin mobile. WIchin one of the icons or buttons is Settings. (They then send you a SMS with the settings wich you must save)

But i've heard from many people that the experience that they had with Virgin Mobile internet isn't quite as Good as with MTN/Vodacom. Although the prices are much better with Virgin Mobile.

In theory Virgin is what people want for very casual browsing - attractive pricing for no-bundles, EDGE only, etc.

In practice, the speeds are horrendous & the connection is hopelessly unreliable.

It may be less stressful to buy a small MTN data bundle and experience better GPRS speeds, but a more stable connection.

Oh, and let's not forget the lack of help from the Virgin 'helpline' or this forum.

Check the Games section on your phone. That's where the Virgin menu is on the Sonys anyway.

Use Opera mini for most of my casual browsing, but stuff like homework is so much easier on a PC and I participate in the Folding@home project.
Got my connection to work,Thanks:D

you can also set it up with the Voda settings - again just change the APN - sometimes helps when things play up

All you need is the apn/access point changed. Just create a new connection and set the access point/apn to vdata . I think in samsung pc studio you have to select other by the network option

at+cgdcont=1,"vdata" its not needed for the Ip included

I still haven't managed to get my virgin sim to connect to the internet with samsung pc studio ... vodacom and mtn work fine though. Besides ... Virgin GPRS isn't working often enough to use it :(

Where do I change this? On the phone or on the pc. Struggling to get my gf Samsung phone with Virgin sim connecting to the internet.

It keeps on saying "Registering PC on the network"...

but never logs on. :( :(

Gaan in Device Manager in, met die foon connected, verander die Extra initilation commands en probeer connect ;)

Gebruik 'n "nuwe" dial up connection met *99&#

Will have a look on Thursday when I see here again! :)
