To whom it may concern

I am writing this letter out of desperation to get assistance and get the data billing on my cell phone number corrected.
Even after many post of bad experiences on virgin, I decided to port to Virgin form Cell C. My first encounter with virgin was really crap, my internet had not been working for weeks. It later got resolved after numerous attempts. Now I am forced to regret my move.

Now it seems that I am being charged way more for my data, way more than the advertised 60c. I’ve called, email, facebooked, even asked for assistance on twitter, yet the consultants insist that I am being billed correctly. I mean I’m not stupid and can see that after being charged R20 for short data sessions is incorrect. R20 divided by 60c gives +- 33megs!
And did not use even close to so much.
Now, I quickly logged onto Facebook, opened one page, with the sessions totaling 33kb and was charged 29 cents! That wasn’t even close to 500kb and I was charged for half a meg.
33/30= 0.87
0.87*1000= R8.7 per meg.

I can understand why my airtime has been disappearing when I look at that rate.

Regards,

I have had the same issue for the past 2 weeks.

Thought I was the only one being overcharged. I had R15 airtime checked my emails , disconnected from internet and R11.60 was deducted for 100 kB used. Im so done with virgin.

I used R40 in a day while checking facebook 2 and reading my emails. Leaving the network soon

Yep, last week I used over R100 for just browsing during the day. Something is messed up.

Regards,

Go to another service provider and get a new sim and number. It is less pain in the long run. Do not bother porting your number - that is an invitation to lifelong hell on earth. Even if they do get the port right with minimum pain, out of the blue persistent network call routing errors (cant phone certain numbers - says numbers does not exist) will pop up even years afterwards which Virgin Moblile will take a very long time to acknowledge (that there is a problem) and will probable never solve.(because their technical support department is pathetic).

RUN...
