Went to Virgins website they have changed their marketing the unlimited sms'ses are now called free sms'ses and are 1000 sms'es p/m no more unlimited sms's. In my opinion its total rubbish what now about the ppl who took out the a contract especially for the unlimited sms's and now its limited to a 1000 thought unlimited is unlimited

1000 sms is more than enough. This type of thing was never intended for Mass marketing - although this was hopefully part of the T&C. If I sent 5 sms a month - it's alot.

Make that call!

my grandmother uses her cellphone to sms a lot these days. I am considering telling her to switch to virgin mobile when her contract expires in Nov.

But I heard that there are some fine print regarding these 1k sms'. Could anyone who have more experience regarding their contracts please put my mind at ease?

Being "unlimited" is Virgin Mobile's thing, if you follow the international brand of Virgin Mobile you would find that they have unlimited packagers. So all these sa guys were doing was trya see if it would go.

Virgin Mobile would only move up the rank, if Cell C does. But as said here on myadsl Cell C is doing good to get the pre-paid customers and virgin is look at the guys with contracts.

Virgin is a kwel brand, no lie but the services are limited to what they can give vs what they seem to be.Airtime not loading at times, services just getting cut otter no where.

all in all virgin Mobile is the people who just wanne make a call, send an sms and maybe use the internet to send a picture every now and again

Virgin is k@k man. Most of the time my sms wont go through, "error sending, try again?" and it still charges me for it.

I heard on East Coast Radio. They have a program Consumer Watch with Wendey Knowlan.

People wrote to them and she too virgin mobile on and that's why they made it 1000sms.

In the terms and condition said from the begining that a *fair use policy applies!

Service is absolutely k@k, only thing that keeps me on is their cheap tariff rates and the free airtime.

Dude! They can't even compare to MTN'z MTNZONE. I get 95% discount to all networks which is about 12c or less per minute.

Virgin mobile doesn't have peak or off peak times which means on weekends you still pay R2+ per minute.

THAT's ROBBERY!
