Virgin mobile Free internet settings

20c a meg, that's all I want. If they can do it if you buy a bundle, why not do it out of bundle and save people a lot of effort. You would rake the same profits as well and pay as a operator...

I would like to differ a little bit from you there. If we were to look Just at the rather large MXIT userbase that only use a few megabytes a month, say < 10MB a month. For them the OOB rate of R2/50c doesn’t bother them at all and buying a bundle would either be a waste or they don’t even know what a ‘bundle’ is. If the price were to drop from R2 to say 20c, they won’t suddenly start using 10 times as much data. Their usage would stay more or less the same - Meaning a drop in revenue for the operator.

Unless I missed some core factor or something. The best of it all is, there is people out there that have a data bundles. But they don’t even come Close to fully utilizing it. Wasted bandwidth.

bottom line though is that virgin need a new selling point. they are not doing to well afaik

They will generate more income if they can manage a more stable GPRS\EDGE speed that will bring customers back to VM. The slower the speed, the lower the income.
Fact is that if they did not fix that problem during the past 10 months, when will it be fixed???

I honestly hope they do, because i don't like data bundles.

:D :D

Here goes:
Buy a virgin simcard at R32 ( Thats what i can sell them at to forumites )
The card comes loaded with R50 which will give you 100mb =
Effective price per mb : 32c

Only downside is, every simcard has to be activated and then u have to swap sims....
easy way to work is: activate 3 for example and then use one after the other...used ones go into your drawer for a rainy day or sell them to a friend for 5 bucks!

It's really sad to be so far away from the cities, missing out on bargains like these. In our onehorse town there is no VM prepaid vouchers or starterpacks, i buy airtime at ABSA.

So that's where that 100,000 users come from. I'm about 40 bucks or so away from getting an extra R30 V Rewards so I might as well use it. But if I don't hear anything about a price reduction at the start of the month I am buying a bundle from Vodacom at 19c/MB. Most of it is with the R900 airtime I bought from PicknPay for R599 way back in September. Now if only I had bought 5 of them I would be getting my data for 13c/MB right now and maybe a free phone with all the "loyalty" points. Loyalty has it's limits and I think 2 months for Virgin to at least make a commitment is long enough.
