its sick seeing the same repitiion in 'competitor' companies starting out. they might as well just give them selves one name... kinda like the banks in this country... hrm and the supermarkets...
welcome to our 'copy paste' ctrl+c+v economy.

Was thinking the same when an alleged Virgin employee told me that, also they are planning to target business men and companies rather than end users.
All "rumours" ofcourse![]()

I had the exact same experience with CellC about October 2004 - "smartdata" GPRS - it is just one of many things that put me off as a CellC customer.brixton tower said:Cell C is absolute crap...getting GPRS settings to a phone I bought from their was impossible...even after visiting their website I still couldn't get the settings sent to my phone...and then they''re charging you R2 to get the settings sent, how bloody retarded.
I'm never using it again.
The only way to get the settings is to call them. If you sms "smartdata" to 0841559911, one of the methods to get the settings according to Cell C, you get an error message saying your phone does not support GPRS. This happened with 2 different phones. Meanwhile you pay for the smsbrixton tower said:Cell C is absolute crap...getting GPRS settings to a phone I bought from their was impossible...even after visiting their website I still couldn't get the settings sent to my phone...and then they''re charging you R2 to get the settings sent, how bloody retarded.

IMO CellC hasn't figured out how to charge for GPRS yet - subscription charge etc my foot - kicking CellC...GougedEye said:Look for Virgin Mobile end of Q2 this year. Don't expect big price breaks, but maybe some different ways of presenting / packaging cell services.
Value Add services like GPRS are not Cell C's strong point. I don't really know why they bother with them. Other than a kindof "Me too" marketing approach. They are not likely to win any major share of the business market from MTN / Vodacom.
For basic cellular telephony, especially prepaid, they are pretty decent and very competative on price.
Agreed. It's like all the others. Basically priced out of the reach of anyone who actually uses the Internet. It's ok for the exec who checks his e-mail and does some light browsing, but for any serious use? Forget it.ic said:Bottom line is that CellC's GPRS needs a pricing overhaul before anyone will seriously consider it...
