When i buy VM airtime the cheapest option is R50.00 at the ATM as well as the ABSA Internet banking. What happened to the R35.00 option for VM customers in smaller towns with no place to buy vouchers.
I've contacted GTVM about this and he told me that they are working on it. But why not in the meantime make the R35.00 option available at ATM's and Internet banking?
ABSA's site do have a options button for other amounts, but when i try to buy R35.00 airtime it tells me that that i can buy only R50.00 or more.

Hi,

You should be able to choose any amount you want by just registering a debit card with Virgin. This way you choose what you want to top up. I also think that you save on the cost of topping up by ATM etc.

I currently do this without any problems.

I do not use a credit card, but why do MTN and VC have R10.00 and R12.00 options available at ABSA's ATM's and Internet banking?
 
I don’t have a good answer to that but I would think it maybe due to the fact the other two operators are better established. They might have this planned for later, it might have something to do with ‘Target Markets’, not sure. Sorry, can’t really help there.

This irritates me too. Woolworths doesn't have the 35 voucher either. Pick 'n Pay doesn't even have Virgin vouchers at all. & Engen don't know what Virgin is ...
They've had plenty of time to sort this out.

CellBell i buy my airtime on my phone and can buy any amount i want R 35.00 being the lowest. The other day i wanted to buy R 50 and it showed an error and when i checked my balance it was R 0 but when i tried to buy R 50 again it showed me error again. Half an hour later when i checked the balance again it showed that i had R 100 airtime. So it shows an error message but it's working, it really annoys me sometimes as rarely does anything work properly longer than a week. VM needs to sort out all the glitches and they have had plenty of time to do it

I saw your post on airtime errors you are getting, would you mind dropping me a line with some detail on this ask e.g. Date, Virgin MSISDN etc.?

This info will help me check our logs and see where things are falling over.

Hi Everyone,

Physical Airtime is currently available via:
Edcon outlets (Edgars, Jet, CNA)
Musica outlets
Virgin Mobile stores
Engen Quickshops - largely, but from the posts it seems we are not up to speed in this channel yet - so I will take this up, if anyone would like to send me details I am happy to use those as part of my discussions internally

I will get a list of supported ATM's denominations etc.
and post these during the course of the day.

Here is some feedback on the ATM's

Standard Bank, ABSA and Nedbank offer airtime on their ATM units. FNB are in the process of rolling this out and as it stands we are only on about 100 currently – with an additional 100 ATMs per month.

Further info on denominations to follow.

Gerald i think your answer here about ATM units is slightly out of line with the thread which is about a R35.00 option on ATM's and the availability of vouchers.

sky.akash mobisms eventually sorted out my problem and i can now send sms to Indonesia which costs me 2 units ie 58 cents so i'm happy. thanks for the link:)

sky.akash mobisms finally sorted out the problem in sending sms to Indonesia, it costs me two units to send an sms ie 58 cents and it's well worth it. I don't think that Gerald will be too happy because it takes away business from VM. But i did spend close on R 3000 sending sms via VM in the past 9 months:)

:eek: How many smss was that for? It took me six months to use up a 200 sms bundle from mobisms - almost all for international.

My last post follows on from a previous commitment I made committing to get all info and share it on the forum, hopefully that addresses any other unanswered questions around channels and denominations in the process.

According to the info I have received from my colleague who manages this portfolio, it is my understanding that all denominations should be available via the ATM channel - she is contacting our partners and putting a matrix of partners and denominations together.

I will communicate that as soon as I get the info.

As for Engen Quickshop; if you have feedback on specific outlets not offering the airtime, please share it wo I may escalate.

The R35 Vcharge is quite scarce. Woolworths don't have it. . How come?
