How the fark does virginmoneys internet banking work.

I can log in but I can't find any place to add a beneficiary or make a payment.

This site is retarded and the help is asking to click menu's that no longer exist.

Can anyone help and check the steps to add a beneficiary on their account and then maybe post here...

Thanks

J

From what I recall, you can't load any beneficiaries. The only EFT's out of the account is to one nominated account, in my case my cheque account with Absa. Hence, I'll transfer the money to the cheque account and then pay the beneficiary from their.

But I'll quickly check whether I can figure anything out.

You have to call the helpdesk and they will add a beneficiary for you.. and only ONE

Definitely no function to add beneficiaries. Only pay the nominated beneficiary.

Sorry.

You can not create your own beneficiaries with virgin money. When I wanted to change my nominated account I had to send them a letter and ID for their IT department to do it for me. It took about 2 - 3 weeks for this to happen. I complained about this to the customer care and the reason I was given for this is that they are not a fully fledged banking service and only a credit card that focuses on swipe transactions @ POS points. Oh well.

You can't blame them, since it is a credit card, not a general transactional account.

Sigh. Lame. I think they should remove the internet banking portion then or atleast UPDATE their help files and mention that general internet use is not possible.

Thanks guys. I guess I will be making a trip in to Standard Bank shorlty since I can't change my EAP limit remotely, it has to be done at branch.

Anyone else hate banks?

J

No, it's not lame.

It's the best freaking credit card out there, with zero charges on virgin stuff. The only charges that you incur comes from other institutions.

Yes, it's not a normal bank account, it's a credit card.

I do not agree with the removing the internet banking portion. I still regurlarly transfer funds out of my card to my Absa cheque account. I use the Virgin Miney Card as a savings account as the interest earned is good.

And then the internet banking portion is also very usefull for checking balances and transactions. And then downloading the statement to Excel for reconciliations.

And remember when you transfer money from the card and go into credit when doing that you get charged interest IMMEDIATELY, just like when withdrawing cash at the ATM on credit. So it's just generally a bad idea overall.

I LOVE my VirginMoney credit card, almost as much as my Capitec debit card...

You have up to 25 days at the end of every month to settle your full outstanding balance of swiped purchases. After this you will be charged the rate that applies at the time.

So it seems 25 days interest free - where did you get that info that you get charged immediatly?

Regards.

Please read agian carefully, I am talking about transfering money out of the account and going into credit andd withdrawing at ATM and going into credit and then getting charged interest immediately, I did NOT mention swiping of card anywhere.

I repeat, I did NOT mention swiping of card anywhere.

Not sure about capitec...but on my nedbank you do the following:

Select payment:
Select Bank approved beneficiary
Select "ABSA CARD"

Then you enter your full virgin credit card number with no spaces into the Beneficiary Ref field.

Necro alert...

How do you set up a Virgin CC as a beneficiary on Capitec's online banking?

Capitec don't have "Credit Card" in their drop-down list for some reason??

Beneficiary name: *Personalised*
Account number: 1600033251
Bank name: ABSA BANK
Branch code: 632005 ABSA ELECTRONIC SETTLEMENT CNT

Account type: Current/Cheque Account

Description: *Personalised*
Description: Credit Card Number
Beneficiary limit: *Personalised*

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but does anyone know how to make an EFT to your Virgin Credit Card via Standard Bank online banking?

Add beneficiary > change Beneficiary Type from Private to Company > Look up ABSA and choose the ABSA credit card > fill in Beneficiary reference with your credit card number > fill in what you want to call the beneficiary on your statements > complete adding process with OTP and such.

Sorry for another necro
but im also struggling to add my virgin cc to my capitec account

it gives me this error
An invalid Account Number or Branch Code is configured for the selected beneficiary. You will need to update the beneficiary details.

but I am using the number on my card as per the instructions on my statement and absa from the drop down menu....
What am I missing?

i need to make a payment before the 10th! Why does everything always have to be a mission?
