Virtual fax from iBurst for mobile office workers

It would be fantastic for me IF it didn't have a monthly subscription charge...

Why not just charge me for every fax I send instead? Using the companies fax machine every now and then is annoying but I'm not paying R30 p/m when sometimes I don't send faxes for 3 months...

Rather charge me more per fax and have no sub charge....

Well actually they charge per fax as well as R30 per month.

For people without a fax, ie hoime use, its worth it becasue you would have to pay more just to have a fax in the firwst place right?

And most invoices start on your PC anyway, alot easier than printing them out and then faxing them.

I agree that it is useful, but they should give the option to people who don't want to fax often. Higher fax charges..

I would be happy to pay R3 a fax without the R30 p/m fee.

Look at mweb's email to fax service - http://faxmail.mweb.co.za/Pricing.aspx

They got no monthly costs for the email to fax and fax to email service and I used it in Jeffreys Bay with a laptop and Nokia 6820 bluetooth cellphone and sent faxes in .jpg, .tiff, .doc, .pdf and other formats also

No dissing the "aged" service, but why would a person want to send a fax?
The "page" is already in an electronic format so why not just e-mail it?

Why is this news worthy? Or is it an advert?

Now it's an MWeb advert thanks to Hein_JHB :p

The Mweb offering sound much more appealing to me :)

I don't know whats up with the R50 "deposit" they hold onto though...

fax2email provides you with a free number to receive faxes and outgoing faxes are about 10c less a minute. There is also no monthly charge.

I can't see why anyone would want to pay R30 for something you can get for free.

Now it's a fax2email.co.za add :)

Well lets look at Mwebs rates. There is a reason for the low prices, trust me its all subsedised into your Mweb subsciption, which is much worse; forcing it on everyone just to make it cheap for the few who use it.

Mweb dial up is R145, that is insane, the highest in the country, I wouldnt be gald about getting cheap faxes if I was you.

That fax2email thign is shurley add suprted though? They have to make some more money somewhere, but I agree. its just easier for Iburst users to have it all debited to your account, and many people dont know about that, so Iburst is making some money from it, nothing wrong with that.

No idea.. but ALOT of people especially business still deal in faxes, I guess some peopel just still like good old paper copies.
The point of a fax is also to allow signatures etc, but prety useless otherwise, yes.

Yeah, not so worthwhile once I realised MWeb subscription is required! I'll look into the fax2email.co.za option... failing that, perhaps a normal fax machine is the best option for the odd fax or two that my old man requires!
