On an i3, if I want to assign half the cpu capacity to Virtualbox, would I set it to 1 or 2 cpus in the settings?

The task manager shows 4 CPU graphs, of which 2 are HT not real cores.

In VB if you got to Settings->System->Processor how many CPU's do you have in green? Set it to halve of what is available in the green line. (Ignore the red line part)

Stupid question, but did you switch on Intel VT+ in your motherboard's BIOS?

Not at all stupid a stupid question. I just assumed its on but picked up on it after vbox bombed out with errors. Why HP disables it per default is beyond me....

Think it might be cos VT+ enable makes it impossible to use a dual-screen setup on my Dell Latitude.

Messes up the Intel onboard graphics.
