Pc restarts by itself...windows up to date, norton up to date, no new hard/software..no spy/malware, temperature & ram & cpu & hdd normal..WTF..Virus?

Go in safe mode, get rid of norton and install something that works like nod32

Yep the virus is called "Norton Anti-Virus"

I don't think it's virus related. Sounds like an operating system or hardware problem.

Try this;

-Right click My Computer
-click properties
-click "Advanced" tab
-under "System Failure" (startup and recovery in Vista) see if "automatically restart" is checked. Un-tick it if it is. This usually causes the computer to restart spontaneously.

Ok got it going again but the moment I click Ie7 it crashes and reboots..firefox seems ok..going to do a reg clean make backup and then reinstall ie7

you could try system restore too a time when it worked a good reg cleaner is ccleaner removed alot o errors from friends pc
