Vista Codec Package 4.4.5

Codec packs are the spawn of the devil, or so i have been told...

Never needed a codec pack myself, just load ffdshow and you're set. And for the one or two other video's that dont play, there's always VLC.

Is this for Windows Vista, or just a coincidence, because how the hell would you get to version 4.4.5 on just Vista?

I haven't tried it as you can see, K-lite codec pack works fine for me, it installs FFD Show and then a few others..

I want to install it on Vista Ultimate Edition. In case I get some xvids or ac3's 'cos I know wmp11 hates em. I suppose VLC is an alternative but I really don't want to add too much to my software bank. I am still wary about Vista and doing my best not to load cr@p. BTW K-lite codec pack caused endless problems and made me have to format after I let it install media player classic and bs player.

I Installed Vista Codec v4.4.4 on a friends Vista 2 weeks ago.
Working fine so far.

i also use klite on vista ultimate. downloaded the latest one. click install and TADA! seems to be no hassles for me

woah, dunno what you did there. i have never had issues with klite. ACE mega codec pack yeah, some issues i had there, but not klite. what did you do to klite to force a format?

K-Lite doesn't install BS player? Only MPC, which is great, never cause problems for me. Are you sure you weren't installing it over other codec packs, that's usually what gives problems. If you take a clean install and just install this it should be fine.

Still don't get how a Vista codec pack got onto version 4.4.5 after a few months of Vista being out? Did they just up the numbers to look credible? :p

bsplayer is the greatest

I'm using for a while BsPlayer and , in my opinion, is the greatest player because is equipped with a extensive subtitle options which enable the users to watch video content with subtitles from many popular subtitle formats. I got it from here: BsPlayer

I just normal Divx pack and i use that matroski for mkv files.

Problem with installing to many is sometimes they conflict.

Vista Codec Pack, have used it a few times. Personally I think it is the spawn of the devil, always hated it. Caused too many problems on my Vista installs.

If you need a codec pack rather install K-Lite Codec Pack. Usually works well and so far has never messed up an install of XP and Vista.
