Vista problem with DAEMON TOOLS and the SPDT installing

I had vista business for many months now and my daemon tools worked and alcoholic 120% worked.

I upgraded vista to ultimate last week,it was all good until i tried to install daemon tools,I have tried everything:mad: vista goes in a infinite loop when trying to install the app.It says to restart then i do and the app freezes again.
1-I downloaded the latest daemon tools and the latest spdt.
2-i tried installing the spdt on its own and then vista asks me to restart,i do..then when back in window and tried daemon still get error that spdt is not installed
3-I do run everything as admin in vista.

Its been 4 days of hunting on the net and visiting daemon forums,still no reply from the developers.

So can anyone help me with this,I am using poweriso,but its not the same as daemon tools is my one of my fav apps.
Alcohol 120% also not working as the spdt is not found or installed.

Please help me,if there is no fix for me then i might as well.....?:(
 
By the sounds of it, I presume you have tried uninstalling daemon tools etc. You might have to remove ALL registry entires of it. (Please note working with the registary can result in a serioulsy f### up system, when often results in needing to reformat)

If you are confidant try that, also make sure you have all the latest updates for Vista Ultimate installed.
 
I had a similar problem. It related to using Deamon Tools Lite with Vista Ultimate. I upgrade to DT Pro, problem solved. I have all the Vista updates installed though. You might want to report the app problem via control panel. I've found that you actually get useful info back from MS lots of times. GL!
 
Long shot, but you could try running the setup exe in compatibility mode (I'm assuming Vista still has this). Or safe mode maybe. Or an old version. Some of the previous versions had a totally different installer.
 
tried that to and still nothing,THe problem is not really installing daemon tools ,its the sptd that freezes up first during the install process.
I know now that the spdt will not install and just run an infinite loop of restarting and restarting...
I just cant believe that virtualclone program works and installs its spdf file and it works..weird that daemon cant work under ultimate
 
I have used daemon under ultime before and it was fine, just had to download the latest one as mine was a bit old. Having said that Vista was useless so I changed back to XP where everything actually works without all of these hassles! :D
 
I have the same problem it want to restart computer and then over and over again want to restart when i install deamond tools.i have had wista home premium and then when i upgrade to vista ultimate it wasnt working!PLEASE ANYBODY i NEED HELP
 
With the new version of DAEMON Tools Lite, the advantage is that you can can burn the images you're using with DAEMON Tools Lite right away or just test an image before burning it to see if it was created correctly.
