Vista updates at 85mb today :(

It was a 32-bit version tho. Perhaps 64-bit would've run smoother but I didn't have a copy.

I've had vista ultimate with SP1 running for a while now (since SP1 was released) and haven't had a single problem yet *touch wood*

I've seen 2 Q6600s running XP32 just fine. My own Q9300 runs XP64 just fine as well :confused:

You would notice that while I did take a shot at his OS (and always will), I also did help him on his point. Alternatively, theoretically it is *possible* to set up a collector for the updates by a proxy gateway, but I cannot guarantee that it would work, since I don't know if the update packages (as downloaded on a unique URI path basis per downloading computer) are in any way signed such that they will only work on the one computer which was downloading them.

Yep, appreciate the slight bit of help you gave ;)

I googled a bit and saw "Windows Home Server", which can also have WSUS integrated to send updates to certain workstations.

A bit overkill for us really, but it was cool reading it.
 
i'm not going to read pages 1 - 3, but if you use MS-DOS there will be no updates, guaranteed :)

btw, there is an autoupdater alt, go look for the website - as i understand it it also saves your updates to be used offline after you have updated a box, but not a collection of patched from the start though
