Vista

I've been using VISTA 32bit Ultimate from the beginning of this year with no real problems. Had teething problems initially with nero and the odd software but those companies offer newer upgrades to fix this and so the newer versions are VISTA compatable. Only problem I have left is an old Canon SmartBase printer that has no VISTA driver out. :( ...
But other than that lil thing ... VISTA offers far more than XP and runs REALLY awesome on newer high end PC's ...
Will NOT ever go back to XP ...
It really is a thing of the past for me!

My 2c ... ;)

Right, let's say I come to the point where I want to remove Vista and remove the partition, how exactly do I do that? Basically what I'm asking is how do I get the HDD back in one piece, with only XP on it?

Format the vista partition.

& then use partition magic to make one large partition with XP.

If you not sure if you gonna keep vista if possible install on separate old 10-20gig HDD easier to back out then

Alright, I'm *almost* ready to create a new partition for Vista. Now, my final question is (thank goodness ), what is the worst case scenario that may happen? Honestly, I don't want to boot up after installing Vista and be greeted by a nice blue screen or similar error. :p

just run the vista install make 100% you know which drive is going to the vista one

create a part and call it vista to make 100% sure :) may seem silly but it wont when you load vista over xp lol

then just follow the instructions

Gosh.. or just load Vista and screw XP. You can go back later if you have to.

If you bothered to download it or buy it you should want it right?

Yeah I do want it. It's just that I have a habit to screw things up. :p Anyway, I downloaded Partition Magic from Ares. It's a cracked version. It won't screw up my HDD because it's cracked, will it? ;)

Well then it's settled. I will install Vista in the morning and hopefully be able to Dual Boot afterwards.

EHV: Lol, nothing that I have is original either, not even my XP or Vista. Yes, I do consider myself a pirate. :D

Does anyone have that timestopper thing?
PM me :D

So I installed Vista, everything went smoothly. It booted up and all looks good. However, there's no sound, and I don't have a clue where to download sound drivers for Vista. Any advice?

What soundcard you got? Onboard? What motherboard?

Here are my specs:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+
1GB DDR2
GeForce 6150 128MB

I've got no clue what soundcard I have. Something to do with SoundMAX is all I can tell you. :p

EDIT: Also, Windows Aero doesn't seem to be active. I've tried to select it as the colour scheme but it's not in the drop down menu. Could it be my graphics card?
