Well it's about 5km from where I live. One more thing, I figured out that the Vista Driver for my GPU is needed to enable Aero. Now, when I download that driver and install it on the Vista Partition, it won't overrwite my XP driver in the XP partition, will it?

Still struggling with my sound. I've read that the SoundMax drivers and codecs will be downloaded with Windows Update, yet there is still no sound on my Vista OS. Any advice is appreciated.

Check the mobo manufacturer's website. I got my soundmax drivers from the asus website.

I managed to get hold of a driver on the Asus site too. It's an older one than I have on XP, but it will just have to do for now. Now all I have to do is download a new driver for my GPU, and I'll stop complaining.

guys i would not upgrade to vista rather dual boot it

so many ppl are running back to xp, even dell is going back to xp

I think Vista is great, but I had too many software progs that wouldn't work probably in Vista, I eventually decided to downgrade to XP. I have the Vista Business edition so the XP Pro license is included (with Vista Home and Premium it's not!), so no problem; I'll just upgrade to Vista at the end of the year after SP1 has been released, or after all the vendors have updated their drivers/software to work 100% on Vista.

Which programs wouldn't run?? I have only had 2 programs refusing to install or run. Gothic 2 and my old windows 95/dos games of space quest,kings quest and quest for glory. All other programs and games installed and run. some I have to run in xp compat mode and as an admin but no other problems and others I need patches for.
