Just today I was looking at the discovery credit card and they make this big fuss about getting up to 20% back on your purchases BUT...
You get a % back on only 30% of your total purchases for that month.
Etc say you buy R3000 worth of groceries. 0.3 x R3000 = R900 x 0.2 = R180 you get back. Now that is on the diamond vitality status. When you start you only get back 5% so it's more like R45. I suppose it will at least cancel out your annual fee of about R250 but still.

The whole credit card gives out a % back on 30% of your monthly spend at discovery partners depending on your vitality status.
The PicknPay 15% and 25%(must complete your health survey) is a direct discount. Your food shopping also adds to your total spend for the month which grants you the top discount as well.
So if you have a 10% vitality discount and 25% pick n pay discount you get the 35% off your shopping.
I'll confirm this if I remember after my bill at the end of September

Pfft what are you smoking? 15%-25% off your pick n pay bill? No not exactly...
You get the discount off vitality products you buy from pick n pay, and not your entire shopping bill. So if you buy a months worth of vitality cabbage then you'll score. If you buy a chocolate bar, you don't.

not that bad, its just ± another R100 p/m out of your pocket, which unfortunately excludes your discovery membership
A cost that no one ever factors into the "bargains" that they share.... so it is actually R144 per Gb.
Vitality only works for you if you milk it for all it is worth. Of course Discovery is fully aware of the fact that hardly anyone uses all of the benefits. They all sound good in practice but in reality they are under utilised... and Discovery are guaranteed their R100 odd per month for this service.
