You know, looking at the dietary requirements for calcium as well as my daily food intake, I am pretty sure I am not taking enough calcium.
Apparently we need about 1000mg per day of calcium. One cup of milk has roughly 300mg in it. I have my breakfast with quite a lot of milk, so let us call it one cup of milk. I have coffee and tea throughout the day, if we are generous that will add up to another half a cup of milk - 150mg. My breakfast cereal unfortunately does not contain extra calcium (I checked. I eat Bokomo bran flakes). I eat two slices of wholewheat bread for lunch, which are about 30mg each. For supper, I don't have anything that contains calcium.
So, that is about 510mg, leaving me nearly 500mg short of what I require! I might see if I can switch to another brand of bran flakes that contains added calcium.
EDIT: Sorry, I know this is not directly related to Vitamin D! I take the Solal 500IU of that every day.
Hi guys
Anyone know where you can get Vit D tabs in the 2000-5000iu range? All the usual supplement stores seem to be sold out.
I checked dischem and some pharmacies as well, but everyone only stocks Metagenics D3 5000 which is mixed with soybean oil so that is a no-no for me.
