Somebody get someone out of bed on this sunday morning clearly Vodacom will continue to lose clients over this issue, some may laugh this off as small but really its not and it will continue to bite you in the arse Vodacom, but when you expect a large amount of your customers to make use of the mobile facilities then how can you say well here is the world through your phone "but you can only go here"!

I would rate on the contract form somewhere you have the option to have a branded or unbranded version of the phone. The visual VodaFone etc on the handset itself does not bother me, just the actual software, oh yeah, and the red skin theme also annoys me.

If I could have that option on the contract to receive either version of the phones firmware, or even a simple method of switching between the two using some PC software I would be happy.

People unfortunately are lazy (in my case), but most South Africans honestly don't have a clue or even desire to still mess around with firmware. I update my phones firmware from time to time, but I guarantee that the majority of South Africans don't even know it can be done.

Ok the Vlive theme on certain models and phones and easily be changed by changeing the theme but its still running in the background " anything running in the background that you dont want their to me is considered a VIRUS" big brother is watching who knows! ban and condem Vlive as a Virus.LOL

I think the real undercurrent issue here is:

A "branded" Nokia with Vodafone written all over it = one big advertising board. The advantage of things like this [for the consumer] SHOULD be that it is CHEAPER than the unbranded phone. Don't you think?

Basically Vodafone should be subsidizing an ADDITIONAL cost when selling this phone, but it's clear they are not doing so. You do not get anything extra with this phone, [and if there are extra services you have to pay for it anyway].

EDIT : Let me rephrase that: Vodafone is not adding any VALUE to the phone for the consumer.

What makes it worse now the unbranded versions are cheaper!! . So clearly imho there's a big rip-off going on.

Sure if they replaced Vodafone with FERRARI then i might consider paying the -current- more expensive price for the "ferrari brand". I honestly don't think Vodafone's brand justifies additional costs or as a "perk".

Simply put: A Vodafone branded phone should be significantly cheaper to justify having to "deal" with the issues that comes with walking around with free advertising in their name.

Its not a perk tones of sites are available with more uptodate multimedia and its free just the cost of a download. Does the other half of Vodacom's board of members realize that Vodafone came in over night (Vlive)
