Hello all

so we access our database through a VM

this morning i got a black screen when access the VM and the IT team restarted it

however now they come back to say it crashed

i had some files on there

is there any way IT can access these files ?

hopefully they running veeam backup , then you can either restore the entire vm , or the database itself or just an individual file.

Your IT team knows the answer to that, if they don't, they should be fired for incompetence..

Anyway, they must either restore from backup or depending on what they meant by crashed, they could spin up a new VM, attach the crashed VHD to the new VM which should make it accessible as a second drive for you to browse and grab the files..
