Hi Guys

Im missing something incredibly basic. How is it that in VMware server 1.x you can login and start a virtual machine.

Say for example your virtual machine was XP. You then enter your XP vm and install and test programs etc, etc.

With Server 2.0 wtf?? You create a vm and start it and then??? wtf??? Am I supposed to use the Remote Console? But the vmware site reckons thats for GSX server.

I dunno, could someone please break it down for me...

Through the web interface, once the VM has started, clicking on open console(or whatever it says in the middle of the screen on the console page) opens up a new window which shows the output of whatever OS you have running, so Win Xp will be the desktop..

Hi Conrad, thanks for the reply

My experience with VirtualBox is that you need to go to great lengths to add a second network card and have it in bridge mode. Has this been made simpler?

Don't know to be honest! I only started using VitualBox recently and have not had to add a second card or bridge it. I mostly use VMWare workstation....
