Voadafone live software for non-vodacom phones

Sup fellaz! My mum recently got me a nokia n70 with an MTN Contract, so the thing is i've always used vodacom as my prefered network and i don't intend to stop anytime time soon.

Problem is... i can't seem to connect with vodafone live only GPRS works, I tried calling 155 for help they couldn't help so they refered me to Vodacare(they couldn't help me either).

So wat excatly can i do to get that freakin vodafone live menu, my 3g service is activated (tried video calling, it worked eventhough it sucked).

Please help!!!

To my knowledge Vodafone Live is only available on Vodafone Live branded cellphones. I have the same problem when using my Vodacom SIM in my MTN N90.

V3G might be able to confirm this thought.

I dont see why, Surely you just need the IP and settings to connect. I asked this question a while back and got no repsonse..

The only way to get the Vodafone live software on your phone (as far as I know!) is to get the vlive firmware, from vodacom. They do it for free if you got the phone from Vodacom, but about R100 if it's an MTN phone.

Broadly speaking the phone presents an unique ID to the network (based on model type). If you don't have a Vlive version of a specific model, this ID might not be recognised and the rendering might not work properly.

Easiest is to upgrade the phone to the latest Vlive software.

Goto your nearest vodacare outlet, or to a Nokia outlet.
@Tonya, in Greenpoint there is a Vodacare and Nokia shop virtually next to each other. I took my 6680 for a firmware upgrade and it took 2 hours before I got my phone back. AFAIK, only the Vodacare shop could load the vlive firmware.

When I went to Vodaworld with my 6230i the guy at Nokia gave me this crap excuse they had to send it to Jhb to get it flashed with the Vlive firmware. I still haven't had any luck with these guys. I know it's supposed to take 1 day max to do this and this is the kind of service I get.
