I have a server connected to the net with an iBurst connection (static IP). When I try access the web server via my Vodacom 3G just times out. If I connect via a DSL or IS diginet connection I can connect fine. I called Vodascum data help desk and they said the "Internet" APN has lots of restrictions I should contact my SP and get moved/upgraded to the "Unrestricted Internet" APN. Funny, it worked fine 3 days ago. I think I need to clear all the bullsh1t out my ear.:D

Anybody else having the same problems?

Once you've washed your hands, post or PM me the URL / IP you're trying to connect to.

Here's a long shot.... Try registering your iBurst network (ie. your static IP) with www.dyndns.org. It's a free DDNS (Dynamic DNS) service. You may then be bale to get to your server by typing something like myiburstserver.dyndns.org or myiburstserver.dyndns.org:8080 depending on what ports you want to use. It's easy to set up and since your IP is static you can enter it manually on the dyndns setup page without having to run a software client on your server. And b4 anyone points out that you have a static IP - I did read that but I have also at times been unable to connect via the IP directly and I'm still mystified. Perhaps it's some obscure filtering.

This thread is dated but may be of interest too: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=32730

Thanks ThumperNut but NDS or name resolution is not the problem. The name resolves to the correct IP fine but a just can't get any traffic to it.
