Vodacom – lower data prices, strong growth

Vodacom said that it has reduced the effective price of data by 30%, and has seen a big increase in the amount of data used

Vodacom has reduced its data prices. It is now R149 per gig which is on par with the industry standards. It is even a bit cheaper than Cell C @R155 a gig. (Even though I think cellular data is still too expensive). Coupled with their uChoose packages which eliminates the OOB shark, I was swayed to move over. Overall I am pretty pleased with them and I just took out another iPhone 6 contract. (Good 4G network, good coverage).

Because it does not exist, maybe on contract. Telkom Mobile charges R180 a gig which is ridiculous.

Current 8ta data on 3G modem: R199 for 20 gigs on contract

Cell contract: 100 min, free TM calls, 10 GB free Telkom Wifi, 5 GB of mobile data with rollover, for 150 a month

Data bundles, 1 GB for 119, 3 GB for 149.

OOB comparison: Voda is R2/mb while TM is R1/mb, but they cut you off when you hit the limit so you can't accidentally go OOB, you must approve it to use any more.
