Vodacom BIS (30th January)

I turned my 9360 to edge last week and noticed my edge was quicker than my 3G!! Yesterday after reading this thread I turned my 3G back on and its much faster!! Will continue to use edge as it saves battery power and the speed is acceptable, if I want quick browsing I will turn on 3G !! Let's hope it stays like this now :)

Is it a possibility that Vodacom doesn't have a seperate network allocation for BIS? Is it that they have put aside an allocation (like 2GB, to pull out a stupid number) that is shared by all BIS subscribers, or is it that BIS is provided from the same pool as every other data user under Vodacom's umbrella and BIS is given what's left?

E.g. Vodacom has 5GB (another silly number) and NORMAL data users (Non-BIS) use 4 GB or it, leaving only 1 GB to be shared between the BIS users? Is it possible?

AFAIK Vodacom had a dedicated 1GB link to Blackberry - This was the issue as there were hogs taking advantage of the uncapped service on BIS and downloading huge amounts, and there was no bandwidth left for everyone else.
I wonder if the link has been upgraded?

I must admit that I have been receiving pretty good speeds the past two days. Yesterday, at about 17h00, my download speed was 120 kbps. That's a miracle for that time, normally the speeds are roughly 12 kbps. My browser STILL takes forever to load a page, though, and some times still does the "failure to connect" kak.

Again, Opera is my best friend.
