I don't know what's up with Vodacom lately - even their USSD system was up to pot last night right up to the early hours.

I have applied for a contract (the new Blackberry one) is that the reason why it is taking so long? and if so, can I cancel my contract from VC Direct coz this is just ridicules.

Most likely because they can not support any more customers. The existing BIS network has gone to the dogs, slow as hell and apparently nothing being done to fix it. They fixed it several weeks back and the fix lasted a few days. No doubt they are busy fixing it again but why it has to take weeks and months to fix something is beyond me.

 maybe its just unlcuky for you or it's something to do with your handset or something. Mine works fine.try doing a full backup of your phone, wipe it clean, try the browsing and only then restore the data afterwards. If you struggle then take it to your nearest Vodacare or datashop. Bring it to Vodaworld if it's not far for you.ill make sure it gets sorted :D

It's nothing to do with the phone, it's the network, vodacom has even admitted it to me. I have 5 devices definitely not a problem with the handsets, maybe because you are situated at Vodaworld your service is super fast but elsewhere it's not and I travel around a lot and everywhere I go the service is bad. Been a BB client of yours since inception so I know what problems are phone related and which are network related. I have acquaintances across South Africa who experience the same problems, are all their phones the problem? I think not, in fact I know that's not the case. Vodacom must start admitting to problems and stop continually trying to lay blame on their users.

pm your details to VodacomData,im sure he can assist if it's network related or maybe even provisioning related.Try give as much details as you can, cell number, all reference numbers handset make/model/software version.if you have'nt then try doing a software/firmware upgrade.See if that works.:)

Service seems much improved today :)

The new TV ads flighted promises unlimited email and social networking etc so they must be working on improving the network to support the uptake.

Hopefully it will be better for all, keeping fingers crossed.

My GF had her blackberry activated yesterday with Vodacom. Requested it in the morning and by the time we got home with the new handset all was good and working.

The problem is that MTN bis isn't working today! :-/
